Amazing scenery! January 29, 2009

Taking in the sites!

Here we are looking for locations for upcoming photo shoots!  This area is between Hanauma Bay and the Halona Blow Hole on Oahu… so breath-taking!  It was so windy today, but more than anything it was one of the most spectacular sceneries  I’ve seen.

The Mo’o Story! January 28, 2009

The Mo’o story continues…

After leaving my house this morning for a few hours, I came home to find the mo’o outside of the light fixture… on the ceiling!  Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!

In a matter of minutes, she prepared herself to leap from the ceiling to the ground.  While this is happening my phone rings and it’s Lopaka.  I tell him what’s going on and he tells me that the mo’o is representative of water.  He goes on to explain that it represents the flow in life because water is neutral.  I love his explanation, but at this point all I’m hoping is that it won’t jump on me!

Finally, it jumps to the ground and looks around.  At this point I am screaming and am on the couch!  I hang up the phone with Lopaka to figure out how to get this mo’o out of my house without harming her.  Then, my phone rings again!  This time it’s Kaui and Kahi!  They give me the best idea ever… they tell me to cover the mo’o with a clear container to keep her from running somewhere and getting lost.

I slowly approach the mo’o and of course it runs and I scream, but I finally get the container over her.  Hooray!  At this point I am relieved.  Kahi and Kaui tell me to make sure to place something heavy over the container to keep it from running away.  I am happy now, and will wait for Scot to come home so he can take it outside.

Ten minutes later, Cam calls… I tell him the story and he is cracking up!  He tells me that it is bad karma for me if I let the mo’o sit in there because it may suffocate and die!  Oh, my!  I don’t want the mo’o to die!  He tells me to slide something skinny and hard underneath the container and then carry the mo’o outside and set it free!  I do as he says… and,

FINALLY, this mo’o is set free!  Thank God!

This whole ordeal would not have been resolved without the support of friends!  I am so thankful to have a great support system!  Although this story was about a mo’o in my house, it is representative of life!  As we often face challenges, it is best to have those friends who will walk you through every step of the way!  It was so meant-to be!  I am not so sure this story would have the ending that it did if I had to conquer it alone!  Haha!  In the end I realize how blessed my life is with beautiful friends!  It is because of this mo’o we will have laughter for days to come!  Thanks mo’o!
