Thank you for one blessed year… July 22, 2009
A year has passed…
A whole year has passed and Hugs and Honis is a year old! Wow! I am humbled and grateful to everyone who has had a hand in believing this dream into a reality. There are leaps and bounds more to go, but so far, there is much to be thankful for.
I can never express how thankful I am to all of the halau for loving and supporting Hugs and Honis! To Seiko and Halau Na Pua Ala Ona Ona, Nobuyo and Halau Aina Hoopuka E Ka La, Smiley and Halau O Hauoli Minoaka, Masami, Tomomi, and Kayoko and Kamanu Hula Lea, Sendai girls and Halau Ke Hau Hoopulu, to Reiko and Halau Pikake I Milia, to Shiori, Takako, Masami Manuwai and all of the other halau who have shared love to Hugs and Honis… thank you is not enough…
To Koji and Hula Lea magazine, thank you for blessing me with your help and love. To Sekino san and Hula Hawaii, much aloha to all of you for your guidance and love. To Yamauchi san and Mike Guiry, big mahalos to both of you for everything you shared with me at the Yokohama Hawaii festival. To Kei and Yasuda International, much love and blessings for always thinking of me and supporting me. To Uncle Johnny and Halau O Ka Ua Kani Lehua… you are the reason for me believing in my dreams. Thank you for all of your love and prayers, I am nothing without your love. Uncle Johnny, I owe all of these opportunities to you. You have blessed my life with more than I can thank you for… my dream is to continue to share the kind of love you have in your heart. I love you more than words can say. To the girls, thank you for all of your love. To Jaime and Brandy, I cannot thank you enough for all of your love! You have become the faces of Hugs and Honis and I couldn’t think of 2 better souls than the both of you. You are 2 of my best friends and I love you dearly! To mom, you are the backbone of this dream. Your strength, talent and creativity are my pure inspiration, I love you so much!
To Kevy and Dean! There is nothing in this world that can take away our friendship! You are a part of this forever! Thank you for sharing all of your love and talents with me. The laughter you bring to my life is priceless, everyone in this world should have friends like you! I truly can’t thank you enough. To Ohi… where should I begin! You were there in the first conversations of Hugs and Honis, when it was all just thoughts and big dreams. Thank you for being closer than a sister! :) We shall grow old together, and LIVE for every moment of “coffee talk” and Monday night dinners! I love you so much!
To dad, JD, Jadee girl, Keani and Serenity, you all move me to become a better person. You make me realize that my life is already rich with the love of family and friends. My cup runneth over, and I truly couldn’t ask for more.
To Heco and Kayoko, thank you for everything! You have made this journey one I shall always grow from. Heco, thank you for bringing all my imagination to life! You are amazing at what you do, and I know I will always work with you! Your heart is one of gold and your character is one of the best I’ve come across in a long time. Kayoko, thank you for all of your love and help. I will never forget how much you helped me and how much you believed in me. I love you both like family.
To Scot, you are truly my best friend. I can’t thank you enough for all of your belief, patience and unconditional love. Thank you for your honesty and for pushing me to go for my dreams. For every conversation, late night, challenge and stress… you walked every step with me. It is your hand I hold on the way to this dream. I owe it all to you. I love you so much!
It’s only one year and already there have been so much challenges, but more than that so much blessings. If there is one thing I learned from this year, is that success is not measured by money or material things, it is measured for me, in the amount of love that has filled my life. It may take forever to attain the kind of worldly success, but I know in my heart that it is the love of true people along the way that make it all worth the while. My life is happy and rich with beautiful people and so much love… that is more than I could ever ask for. Thank you God for everything… I live for your purpose! Please bless Hugs and Honis with another year of love!
